The founders of Drole were themselves experienced contractors, and uniquely among UK umbrella service
companies, our first "contract" when we established the company was for us to build an entire information
and operational system for ourselves.
There were, of course, no "off-the-shelf" packages for an umbrella service company operation when we started, but since one of our founders was an RDBMS expert, and the other was an expert in what today is called Analytics, we had the necessary skills to design and build and operate our own services solution.

Besides pioneering the whole concept of the IT contractor umbrella company for UK-based people, it has been gratifying to watch how the "leading-edge" technologies we implemented over the years have steadily become the absolute requirements of any umbrella services company now in operation.

Likewise, just about every IT contractor today gets an SMS message to their mobile when they're salary is paid in by their umbrella company, but we were among the first to introduce this feature as mobile phones came on the scene.
